The Agrndustrial Conference in Izmir Turkey was the run for the second time with the focus of Food, Design and Agriculture. Having just started my masters looking at small scale agriculture my supervisor (Angus Campbell) and I wrote a paper describing the design strategy for my masters. We therefore went to present the Design of Resilient Products for Small-scale Farming in South Africa. Having never been to Turkey or the middle east this was not only a great conference but a great opportunity to explore.
The conference was a small conference which afforded many opportunities to engage and discuss design with academics like Victor Margolin and Anna Meroni. This was not only an enormous opportunity as a young researcher but it also lead to many future collaborations linked to the DESIS Network and Cumulus Association.
As part of the conference activities we were also able to visit the ancient city of Ephesus.
